UPDATE: We’re proud to announce Practice Fusion’s e-prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS) feature is certified and ready for I-STOP. All our providers will meet the March 27, 2016 New York I-STOP deadline. With EPCS activated, you’ll now be able to e-prescribe all medications — included scheduled drugs — right from your EHR. Click here to learn more.
NY providers who already eRx on Practice Fusion were transitioned to EPCS in 2015. As always, the e-prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS) feature will be available to you as part of our industry-leading EHR.
As part of I-STOP, most New York prescribers have been required to consult the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) Registry when writing a prescription for a Schedule II, III and IV controlled substance since August 27, 2013. In order to consult the PMP, prescribers must have a health commerce system (HCS) account. If you haven’t already, you can apply for an HCS account online through the New York State Department of Health.
